West Melbourne is where the new houses are. Questions from West Melbourne homeowners
My subdivision has curb and gutter, not a swale. Does that change the driveway job?
A little. There's no culvert, but a wider apron usually means a new curb cut, and the city and the HOA both have rules about apron width at the curb. We handle the city's right-of-way permit and give you the drawing for the HOA.
Can you widen a builder driveway without it looking added on?
Yes: we dowel the new section to the old, match the broom texture and the joint spacing, and run a single expansion joint. After a season of weathering the color evens out. If you want it seamless right away, a broom overlay over both is an option.
Is a boat or RV pad allowed in my West Melbourne subdivision?
That's your HOA's call more than the city's. Many of the newer communities restrict visible boats and RVs; some allow them behind a fence on a hard surface. We'll tell you what we see in the covenants, and we pour pads that pass whatever the rules are.
